Description
This is a study of the European outlook in the modernism of painter Ceri Richards during the first phase of his artistic career (1930-45). It includes (and illustrates) works and texts not previously discussed in the public domain, reconstructing artworks that no longer exist, and for the first time properly aligns Richards with European contemporaries (Ernst, Miró, Picasso, Brancusi, Arp).
