Siop y Pethe has been a cornerstone of Welsh literature since 1967, when it became the first-ever Welsh bookshop of its kind. Over the years, it has played a key role in nurturing the vibrant community of independent Welsh bookshops that exists across Wales today.

The heart of Siop y Pethe’s mission has always been to promote Welsh books, including works in the Welsh language and those by Welsh authors. Our ethos remains unchanged: to celebrate, support, and champion the literary community of Wales. Although our physical shop is no longer open, we continue to carry this legacy forward through our online platform, ensuring that the voices of Wales remain heard and that the rich cultural heritage of Welsh literature is accessible to readers everywhere.
