On 4 March 2024 the Royal National Lifeboat Institution celebrated the 200th anniversary of its founding. The charity was operating 238 lifeboat stations around the coasts of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, as well as on some inland waterways.
