Description

The true story of women in domestic service between the wars. Our fascination with societies and households united by social, class and occupational division continues unabated. The popularity of Downton Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs and Gosford Park bears testimony to this and Rosemary Scadden’s study of Welsh girls in domestic service between the wars is sure to strike a chord.
