Lost Tramways of England: Southampton

Description

During the late 19th century the port and city of Southampton expanded rapidly and, to cater for the growing population, a network of trams grew up. Expanding until the late 1920s, the system then began its decline – albeit a reprieve during World War 2 – before bidding farewell to the last trams in December 1949.
